Q: What inspired you to start exploring national parks?
A: I’ve always loved nature and being outdoors. But it wasn’t until a few years ago that I realized how many incredible national parks we have in this country. I started small, with day trips to nearby parks like Shenandoah and Great Falls. But once I saw how stunning these places were, I was hooked.
Q: What’s been your favorite national park adventure so far?
A: It’s tough to pick just one! But if I had to choose, I’d say my trip to Yosemite was definitely a standout experience. The sheer size and beauty of the park is awe-inspiring. We spent four days there hiking through meadows, climbing mountains, and even rafting down a river.
Q: How do you plan your national park adventures?
A: Research is key! Before each trip, I spend hours reading about the park online, looking at maps and photos, and talking to other people who have been there before. This helps me figure out what trails or activities we want to prioritize during our visit.
Q: Do you have any tips for travelers who want to explore national parks on a budget?
A: Absolutely! First of all, consider staying outside of the park itself – lodging within the parks can be very expensive. Also look into camping options instead of hotels or resorts. And don’t forget that many national parks offer free admission on certain days throughout the year!
Q: Any final thoughts for those considering a national park adventure?
A: Just go for it! There’s nothing quite like experiencing nature in its purest form. And with so many incredible parks to choose from, there’s something for everyone – whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just looking for a scenic drive.
