Angelina Jolie: From Hollywood to Humanitarianism, Traveling the World with Purpose

Angelina Jolie is a name that needs no introduction. She is an actress, filmmaker, humanitarian and a role model to many. But did you know that she also has a passion for travel? From her childhood travels with her parents to her humanitarian work around the world, Angelina Jolie has seen and experienced some of the most beautiful and exotic destinations in the world.

Born in Los Angeles, California in 1975, Angelina grew up traveling with her parents – actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. Her family traveled extensively throughout Europe during her childhood which instilled in her a love for travel from an early age.

As an adult, Angelina’s travels have taken on a more purposeful direction as she uses it to further her humanitarian efforts. She has visited refugee camps all over the world including Syria, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon where she has met with displaced families and advocated for their rights.

In addition to her philanthropic pursuits, Angelina also enjoys luxury travel on occasion. In 2010 she spent time at the exclusive Amangiri resort located in Canyon Point Utah. The resort is known for its stunning views of red rock formations and luxurious amenities such as private pools.

Another one of Angelina’s favorite destinations is Cambodia where she adopted one of her children from. She filmed parts of “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” there back in 2001 but returned years later as part of UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) mission to help refugees who had fled violence across the border from Thailand.

Angelina’s passion for travel does not stop there though; she also owns properties all over the world including a chateau in France which was once owned by legendary French filmmaker Jacques Perrin.
